The Glenn G. Healas Photograph Collection consists of two photograph albums and loose photographs, totaling 329 images, as well as publications and newsclippings. The photographs include a wide variety of Alaskan subjects such as sternwheelers and other ships, Alaskan fauna, dog teams including teams used for mail delivery, Alaska Native people and their material culture and means of transportation, village scenes, aircraft, fox farming, and various other related subjects. The photographs were taken in Nome, Anvik, and other southcentral, southeastern, and interior Alaska areas. Also included in the collection are publications and newsclippings relating to the fur sealing industry and an obituary for Calvin Townsend.

Glenn G. Healas was the son-in-law of Calvin Townsend. Townsend came to Alaska in 1904 and worked for the government beginning in 1913. He was a game warden and then was transfered to the Bureau of Fisheries. His district included the entire Yukon and Kuskokwim.
